High competitiveness of the NOVOgen BROWN

The 23rd international performance test of commercial layers at the test station 'MTD Ústrašice' in the Czech Republic has once again shown the high competitiveness of the NOVOgen BROWN. This random sample test under field conditions is comparing the production results of the main different brown layer strains available in the market.

All the strains are placed in the same conditions from rearing until end of production (housing system, lighting program, feed and vaccination). At 16 weeks, 180 pullets per strain are moved to the laying house equipped with enriched cages at a density of 756 cm2/hen. Then the egg production is recorded daily for each strain from 18 to 74 weeks of age.

The table below compares the production results of the NOVOgen BROWN with the average results of the classic brown strains i.e.: Tetra SL, ISA Brown, Lohmann Brown Classic, Hy-Line Brown, Bovans Brown, H&N Brown Nick, Hisex Brown and NOVOgen BROWN.

These results illustrate the different benefits of the NOVOgen BROWN maximising as well as technical as economical results:

  • High productivity (97% of lay at the peak and good persistency)
  • High egg quality: shell strength, egg size uniformity and low % of 2nd grade
  • Low mortality
  • Good FCR
